Lady Gaga Coming to Europe, Prince Heading To Australia
Two members of pop music royalty recently released international schedules.
Lady Gaga announced dates for the European leg of her “Born This Way Ball” and Prince will be performing in Australia in May.
Lady first…
Mama Monster kicks off her Euro concerts Aug. 14 in Sofia, Bulgaria. The extravaganza ends Oct. 6 in Barcelona, Spain. All total, Lady Gaga is planning to perform in 21 European markets.
Opening for Gaga are glam rockers The Darkness and DJ Lady Starlight.
According to the singer’s statement, “Born This Way Ball” will be an “electro-metal pop opera” with medieval overtones. Gaga tweeted that the finished stage took her “breath away.”
After she’s done in the Old World, Lady Gaga will probably (hopefully) come back to the United State for a monstrous 110-concert tour. There better be a few Lady Gaga Boston concerts in that itinerary.
As for his Purple-ness, Prince is making his third trip to the land down under and his first since 2003.
Prince will perform in Sydney on May 11, Melbourne on May 14, and Brisbane on May 18.
Yep, that’s it. Three dates.
My luck to Aussies hoping to get Prince tickets. They are a tough get. For instance, his multiple shows at Madison Square Garden sold out in half an hour and he established new box office records during a three-week stint at the 20,000 seat O2 Arena in London.
